I thought the tour entailed more than the house, but it was only kept to the house. There are model slave cabins behind the house. But I don't think it fit all the 33 slaves. Glad I got to visit a home that was preserved by 80%. I wanted to learn more about the guest house and slave quarters outside, but the tour was limited to the Latta family house. When asked the tour guide assured us that unlike the slaves that worked in sugar cane plantations and had a hard life, those that worked on cotton plantations had a better life as evidenced by Sukey, the slave that stayed behind with the family even after emancipation.
