My parents have been staying at the Stratosphere for almost fifteen years and haven't really had issues but I booked an extended stay due to an upcoming relocation out of Las Vegas. The room I was given was not the room pictured on the reservation page. I booked a Premier View room in the renovated rooms. When checking in I was told if I wanted those rooms it would be an additional $20 per day. In addition to resort fees I was also told I had to pay a $50 per day deposit because I was a local. Seriously???? When I got to the room, there was a fork and bits of food in the hallway by my door. The room was old and outdated. The bathroom fixtures were lined with mildew and the sheets slightly stained. There were stains on the carpet that looked like blood in one area. I immediately checked out. Spend some extra money and stay somewhere clean. The front desk staff were polite and friendly but did nothing to make me stay in a different room. Ive settled in elsewhere and am much happier.
