Another on my word-of-mouth, blink and you'll miss it place. I had put off repairing two very expensive pair of dress shoes for over a year just because it was the last thing on my list of things to do. I realized it was time to just get it over with. i tried several other businesses i googled first and these places either were unprofessional on the phone or i couldn't understand them or the shoe repair shops basically kept inconsistent hours. i showed up one place off park street on a non holiday when they were supposed to be open rushed over during my lunch hour and the place was locked up tighter than fort knox. Anyway, on to the good, found out about this place through word of mouth. Peg took my work shoes and was good to her word on everything from pricing which is incredibly reasonable, to expected time of repair completion to the methods she would use etc. This is a woman who struck me as knowing her trade and i will say this, she returned both shoes which were from different pairs in better condition than they were when i bought them i.e.-completely reinforcing the heel of a pricey dress shoe that was held on originally with tiny nails. I just get a good vibe from this business and i like to support local businesses when i am able. She now has a repeat customer in me as i just brought in a dress shoe with a tear in the leather and another that had some kind of blemish from who knows what on the side of it. she clearly explained to me exactly what she planned on doing and i trust her. four thumbs up(that includes my big toes).
