This seemed like a nice local place to go. My friends took me here as a chance to taste some local fare.
Walk in and it is your typical bar/restaurant nothing fancy. I had some of the tap root beer to drink and I enjoyed that. For my meal I had the bratwurst; the sausage was delicious and had a nice grilled char to it that added to the flavor just how I like it. The only complaint I would have is that I got a double bratwurst and it came on a hamburger bun which isn't too conducive to eating effectively.
My friends had the ribs (Thursday's special) and they looked good; I didn't hear any complaints about them. They also had the fish sandwich, which so must say was a pretty hefty sandwich and something I would probably try next time.
All in all, a nice place in downtown Madison to go if you are visiting.
