There seems to be 2 styles of donut-making here in Vegas: the traditional American kind or the Asian-European influenced kind. If you like denser dough and sweeter glazing/icing/frosting, then Carl's Donuts will probably be more to your taste. I tend to enjoy donuts that are fluffier and just lightly sugary, and so far, I've only been able to find those at certain Asian owned donut shops and bakeries. The half dozen assortment I bought at Carl's Donuts all looked yummy, but after sampling small pieces of each, I just couldn't finish any of them (not even the raised glazed) mainly because of their heaviness. The leftover pieces didn't go to waste though because my younger brother, who's not as picky when it comes to food and sweets, easily consumed the remainder without complaint. The shop's clean and bright interior and super friendly staff helped lessen my disappointment with the donuts, and I'm only subtracting one star because of my personal donut preferences. Be aware that the retail location is different than the wholesale site! For the general public, make sure to visit the one that's in the grey business complex nearby Thai Table restaurant and Sunrise Coffee House.
