This shop sells quality loose leaf tea by weight. I was very surprised to find that they don't actually let you smell the teas by yourself. They keep them behind the counter, and you have to ask one of the salespeople to get them for you. For me, the whole point of a tea shop such as this one is being able to browse the various teas. I am much more likely to make a purchase this way. I have never encountered a loose leaf tea shop that wouldn't have the teas available for patrons to browse through. In one review of the Shaganappi location, the reviewer said that the sales staff work on commission. If this is true, then I can see how they are trying torce you to interact with them. I only tried one tea (a green fruity tea called Sakura Allure). It is quite good, and I have repurchased it. However, I don't see myself going back to this shop.
