We had a really great experience on the South Rim Bus Tour with Grand Canyon Tour and Travel. We browsed half a dozen trips online before deciding on this one and we were glad we did.
***Our bus driver MARK was one of the biggest reasons our trip was so nice! Mark was energetic, very friendly, knowledgable, and moreover seemed genuinely happy to be our tour guide! If he had a bad attitude or wasn't friendly the long trip would have been far less enjoyable but he truly made it an enjoyable experience. Great job Mark!
Details:
-Got picked up at our hotel (on time) and were taken to the bus station where we were provided a packaged danish, coffee, and water as the morning snack.
-Our driver provided great commentary about sites and towns while we were driving and also played two movies during the trip.
-The lunch buffet was nice, pretty much what you would expect, but nice. Of course the lines were long with other busses being there but we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal.
-Both stops at the canyon were great views with about an hour at each. I felt good with this amount of time allocation and saw everything I wanted to see.
-Quick stop at a Carl's Jr. on the way home for dinner and got back around 10:00ish
All in all, very happy with our entertainment value. The stops are understandably quick as it takes so long to get to the canyon and back at a reasonable time. The price seems high but after renting a car, gas, park entrance fee, and permit I would much rather have someone drive me.
Ask for Mark's bus!
