I did a full kitchen gut and reno, and could not be happier with the experience or the result. In the kitchen department, Jacklyn did an incredible design in a few stages until it was perfect, and she helped me choose all the appliances and the range hood. She took a lot of time to discuss colors, textures, consistency of lines, when to not go "boring" -- she is a true artist with a practical side.
I was assigned a Project Manager-type, Mehandra, and also Jasmin, and they kept track of every step of the project. The demolition and installation crew were amazing; they were career contractors who took great pride in their work, and were very tidy, friendly, punctual, and took the effort to make sure every detail was perfect. The crew leader I had was Milan, and Vesso. Mehandra also came to my home twice to check on the quality of the work, and phoned frequently to check on the speed and progress.
I think Lowe's is a great way to go, because they are not going to disappear with your deposit, or do shoddy work. It is all guaranteed by a huge, established company.
This project went flawlessly, from the young delivery guys, to cashing out at the front desk. I could not have asked for a better experience, and I would use Lowe's again, and the theory that a big company will charge extra, all balances out in the end. A designer is included, a very active Project Manger, and a full guarantee of quality work in a timely fashion.
