We recently went to Nostrano for restaurant week (for dinner). I've been there twice before for lunch and the service was great and the food was amazing, so I was expecting wonderful things. I had a reservation for 4 at 8:45 on a Thursday and we got there at 8:44. After arriving, the host let us know that it would only be 2 more minutes until we sat down, and that the people at our table were just in the process of paying their bill. We sat at the bar and had a drink. 40 minutes later at 9:25, we were finally informed that our table was ready. We were all starving and I was frankly pissed. I don't understand why they couldn't have politely asked the people to leave or at least let them know another party was waiting? The restaurant staff apologized but I think it was pretty poor service that they didn't comp us our drinks or at least the olives and bread. The dinner was absolutely delicious but I was so hungry that it was hard to savor the food. Overall, not at all impressed with the service, probably the worst service I've ever had at restaurant week or at a nice restaurant in Madison. I hope they figure out a better system because I love the food.
