I was put up here for one night by American Airlines because they canceled my flight out of Phoenix - the pilots failed to show up to the plane because... American. Lucky for me, the Doubletree saved the day. Easy door-to-door shuttle service, topped off with a warm cookie, bottle of water, and drink and breakfast vouchers right at the front desk. From John and James to Nick and Mike, all of the hotel staff was over-the-top friendly and accommodating, with great local stories to share and offering to help with anything I needed during my stay. The customer service knocked it out of the park. Stiff pours at the bar to cry while watching Colorado get murdered by Washington in the Pac-12 Championship game, and a warm breakfast buffet in the morning before snagging about a dozen warm cookies and a quick send-off back to the airport. The hotel has a very interesting layout - it was designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright's students (probably got at least a B in his class), and was a boutique hotel up until a few years ago when Hilton bought it up and made it even better. Thanks for the fantastic stay! If I'm ever stuck in the Chicago of the southwest again, I will make sure to swing back by here!
