Graffiti Alley is a worthwhile discovery off of the south side of College Street between Spadina and Bathurst Streets. It is a section (approximately 1 block in length) of painted garage doors that feature a range of artistic expression and local talent. Unlike Montreal, 99.9% of graffiti or "street art" in Toronto is simply un-policed vandalism. However, Graffiti Alley offers a rare glimpse into the world of talented artists who actually live and work in Toronto. As a city, much of the gems in Toronto are located in neighbourhoods and out of the way places. While there are the occasional CN Towers that scream at you, much else is a discovery that requires a bit of a search. Graffiti Alley is one such place.
