What can I say about McMath Realty? If you like fighting for your rights, listening to excuses, and taking abuse, they're the property management company for you! In their defense, they're highly skilled at collecting rent. Yet, interestingly, they're not as diligent about making repairs on the properties they manage. I have lived in a McMath rental home in Scottsdale for 18 months. I've had ongoing issues with the air conditioner, the plumbing, the heater, the electrical system, and the appliances. The latest challenge has been to get them to replace the broken filter in the pool that I'm paying them to maintain. It currently looks like a swamp. I don't think I signed up to contract West Nile as part of my lease agreement. In total, I've spent over 100 hours of my time dealing with this home's repair issues. The charming owner had the nerve to verbally abuse me after I told him I was going to cancel the lease due to plumbing issues that had been dragging on for months. Their stock answer for everything has been, "We're doing everything we can" despite not much ever getting accomplished. They're especially talented in blaming the homeowners when repairs don't get made (something to consider if you're thinking about using them to rent out a property you own). To summarize, It has been a memorable experience dealing with McMath Realty in Phoenix. They could certainly be a customer service training company's case study of what not to do. Fortunately, this chapter in my life must end as my lease is nearly over. I pity the poor tenant who will move into this "little house of horrors" next. If the 45 year old electrical system doesn't catch the house on fire, the tenants will be dealing with ongoing issues with the 20 year old air conditioner, the corroded pipes, and the swamp of a pool.
