I have been in this location a few times in the past year. I have never been greeted or asked if I needed assistance, which I didn't mind until I planned to purchase a crested gecko. I had read mixed reviews about the way Petco treats their animals but decided to give them a shot anyway. After waiting until it was night time (Phoenix summers are 118 degrees) I went to pick up my gecko. I came in about half hour before closing time, I had already decided which gecko I wanted, had a cage ready and my credit card too. When I approached the manger on duty and asked who I would talk to about getting a gecko, I was met with a big sigh. When I asked if it would be more convenient to come back the next day and if they could hold the gecko, there was hesitation and "we don't hold animals." Uh...thank you...? Needless to say, I will not be going back to spend my money at an uninviting big box pet store that employs people that do not care about the animals they sell or the customers they sell them to. Spend your money else where.
