My grandmother who has macular degeneration, is a patient of Dr. Browning. While his credentials are impressive, on her most recent visit, he showed a complete and utter lack of bedside manner. He bluntly offered the options for her declining situation, including sewing her eyelids shut (a bit of a shocking option for someone in her eighties--not that this alternative shouldn't be considered but someone of his experience ought to know how to offer this type of severe choice with a bit of tact, or even kindness.) His knowledge and skill would be far more impressive if he sprinkled in a bit of compassion.
