I needed to go to the optometrist because I was getting an overwhelming amount of headaches and I've been putting it off for a while. The optometrist and other staff were extremely informational and helpful. The breadth of knowledge that they're aware of when it comes to your vision and the fact that they take the time to explain things to you in terms you'll understand is wonderful. I finally came out of an optometrist appointment that left me with an understanding and it was a great experience. They'll let you know why a certain test is being run and even went to explain each lens coating in detail in case you weren't aware that there was a good option for you -- which is great if you want to make sure you're not walking around with bug eyes from the thickest lenses ever. The only downside is that I was supposed to pick glasses while I was dilated. I was basically just seeing shapes on my face, and while the staff were extremely helpful in helping me choose, I would feel more confident after the fact if I had just picked them prior to my appointment or prior to the dilation. This is partially my fault since I didn't speak up. I hope I don't look like Where's Waldo when I pick them up... :)
