Not sure how I feel about this place. Went my first time to adopt a dog here as companion for my dog. It is overwhelmingly all pit bulls mixes and chihuahuas. Found the older dog I wanted, did the meet and greet. While completing paperwork staff said dog was on medication and would be right back. Other staff completed paperwork, took my 20$ but wouldn't comment on why dog needed medication or reason. Once adoption was completed the staff returned with a prescription for antibiotics. Said dog had tick fever. I asked if they would fill script there and I would pay, nope. They don't do that. The whole process took about 2.5 hrs. I got the dog home and she had ticks and fleas. Bathed her, filled her script which cost additional 60$ and within two days the kennel cough started. Since she had tick fever, I would have thought they would have made sure she didn't have ticks. I see so many people comment on bringing home a dog from here with kennel cough, ticks and fleas. I would hope one day they find a way to protect these poor animals with better care. Like simply putting on a flea and tick collar would make a big difference. It was a very sad experience though I am very happy to have the opportunity to care for this dog
