I can tolerate the 30%mark up on the same grocery relative to big box store, but I cannot tolerate the attitude of their cashiers (other staff are very nice to me). As a visible minority living in rosedale, I can definitely feel they treat me differently every time I pay. Just happened this afternoon, The (white) female customer before me received big compliments from the cashier and they had a nice chat, the (white) man after me at least got a decent greeting 'Hi how are you'. Me - nothing! No greeting not even a 'bye' and I regret having said 'thank you' to her afterward, I honestly don't know what to thank her about - the cashier propbably thought I was just a nanny running errands - even nanny deserve equal treatment. TBH I feel why I have to type this, what a shame in today's world. Summerhill market should consider changing their name to 'whitehall' market - if any of you are spreading this, you will know what I meant.
