I have been dreading writing this review but feel like it must be done for the sake of Yelpers alike. I came to E's Urban Hair after finding it on Yelp. I was debating between this place and Roots and decided E's was the way to go do to their special offer 20% off! I was paired with a young lady whose name I don't want to reveal but if you email me directly I may tell you. She gave me a haircut. After leaving the salon though, I couldn't really tell if she cut anything off, my ends were still a little frizzy and dead. Oh well, at least she was more conservative than less, right? Rather my hair be under than over done. So after checking out I realized the 20% off that brought me to the salon originally was never deducted from my bill. I was frustrated but figured that the prices were so inexpensive that I would let it go. Second trip I went for a partial highlight. I needed something in a pinch and went back to the same lady. I told her that I wanted to get my roots done and maybe even step up the blond a notch since summer is right around the corner. The salon is so dark, when she finished drying my hair I couldn't really tell what the color looked like so after paying I quickly went to my car and pulled down my rear-view mirror to get a look. Hmm... Did she even color my hair? I was disappointed. I met up with my friend that night and she validated my feelings after saying "I thought you were going to get your hair done today?". After closer inspection I have found a few highlights here and there but overall my roots look ridiculous. Now I get to pay to have someone else do my hair for a second time and instead of saving money, I'm throwing my hard earned cash away having to pay to have it done again. While the prices are great, leaving a salon feeling like your hair looks much the same that it did when entering makes the little money spent such a waste. I will not be returning to this salon again. The only reason why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff is friendly and I liked the decor. P.S. From what I can tell, the high star rating is really for Ethan, the owner, not the salon overall.
