My wife and I hired design builders after we had a flood in August. It was a rocky start and I probably should have went with another contractor, but lesson learned. Throughout our remodel we met a few very nice people who work for design builders, but with a good conscience I cannot recommend them. I feel that some of the subcontractors they use did not perform work up to proper standards and we had issues almost every step of job. I work in the construction feild and caught a lot of mistakes I'm not sure would have been addressed other wise. I was also not happy with some of the details of the kitchen design that I feel should have been addressed before construction, and now we are stuck with in our kitchen. The job was completed , but not without it's fair share of headaches. I would look at multiple contractors before committing with design builders.
