I had the pleasure of trying out the Southside BBQ truck at Grist House a couple of Fridays ago and I've been craving it ever since! I ordered the "chicky mac" aka the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of pepperjack mac & cheese. The guys running the truck are upbeat, pleasant, and FAST. I had my food in my hand faster than I could grab a stack of napkins! FYI: They do charge a small fee on credit card transactions, but I won't fault them for it since it keeps the money from coming out of their pockets. Just keep that in mind if you want to save a couple of bucks for an extra order of mac & cheese ;) The pulled chicken sandwich was sooo good. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the BBQ sauce I added gave it an extra-authentic feel. The pepperjack mac & cheese is glorious and packs a punch so make sure you have a beverage handy! Great comfort food, great service, and they even have a brick & mortar restaurant in the Southside (formerly the 17th Street Cafe) if you've got a craving and can't track down the truck.
