this hospital sucks - if you're not Catholic! In July 2015 Dr. Ko (GI specialist) removed my 73-yr old mother's gallbladder after just completing 14 other back-to-back surgeries (26hr shift!). When asked, he said he was fine to do the surgery (even though according to CBC's Marketplace working that long is the same as being legally drunk, driving a car is not recommended!) Of course, he sent her home the SAMEDAY WITHOUT painkillers. She was rushed back to Emerg a few hours later in sheer agony! The emerg physician was overheard by another patient blasting Dr. Ko over the phone! My mom suffered from ongoing lower abdominal pain and he sent her for an ultrasound and MRI WITHOUT EVER CHECKING HER LOWER AB, ONLY UPPER AB. Then told her he could do nothing more for her but to live with the pain for the rest of her life. In February 2016 she was rushed to Milton General emerg with 230 reading in blood pressure and excrutiating pain. That physician said she has been suffering from a double-hernia and needed surgery, which she will have the Milton physician do. He also said that an ultrasound and MRI was not needed to discover what he discovered within a 30-sec exam of the LOWER abdomen. SHAME ON DR. KO. If my mother's surgery doesn't go well, he can expect to hear from me through the College of Physician's & Surgeons of Ontario. I will see to it that I WILL see this thorough investigation through it's entirety!!!!!!!!!!!
