This was my first time donating blood. However one of the main reasons I survived a horrible motorcycle accident years ago is because I was given blood that was donated by some great people!
I wanted to give back so today I went to United Blood Services on 59th ave and Union Hills. As soon as I walked in the door I was treated like family. I was a little unsure on what to expect and I was very happy to see all of the smiling faces of the entire staff and all of the other great people who were donating. Every question I had was answered and was treated in such a great way! I'm not a big fan of needles but the ladies kept checking to make sure I was ok and didn't need anything. Best of all they all kept a big smile on my face.
I wish I could have tipped the staff for taking such good care of me. It was a great experience and I will certainly be back in 8 weeks to donate again. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me today! The work you do is truly amazing!
