My husband and I ate dinner here on a Saturday night, and it was a meal we won't soon forget. The staff at Salute are like a cast of characters from a comedy movie, especially the owner and the bartender. The service was definitely friendly and talkative--almost to a fault. We ordered the fried artichoke hearts and carpaccio as appetizers, then moved on to the osso buco and the seafood linguini special. With the exception of the stale bread basket, the food here was quite acceptable for the price, but it is very standard Americanized Italian fare with lots of veal dishes on the menu. Our bill came to exactly $100 for the two of us and included a bottle of the house chianti, which seemed reasonable. Both the dining room and bathroom were clean and the restaurant looked pretty orderly overall. However, given the plethora of other Italian restaurants in the area serving the same kind of food at similar or lower prices, I don't really see a return trip to Salute any time soon.
