We pulled our son from the infant room at Whiz Kidz after being enrolled for six months. The classroom teachers lack the support they need from the director and office staff. Two teachers from our class left within the six months my son attended. Both times the director did not have a replacement. Both times they were unprepared. They would pull teachers from one classroom to put into another trying to cover everything. So now not only is my son's classroom being disrupted, but other classes are feeling it too. (So within six months you have a 100% turn over rate????) We chose this daycare because of one teacher in particular. She had her degree in early childhood development and was in school for her masters. She was also a mother. She completely adored each baby and I felt that my son was SAFE with her. I can't say enough good things about her. When she left, so did we. That was the deal breaker for us. There were definitely other annoyances during our short attendance. There had been a broken safety gate that the director said they were going to "fix." The gate wouldn't stay latched and needed to be replaced. But for 6 weeks the gate remained damaged with one teacher standing guard to make sure no crawling baby would push over the gate, while the other teacher would tend to the other 8+ babies. How is that ok? I asked the director about it multiple times. She would tell me that there was a handy man coming in that week. Or some generic line about how it was a top priority for them. The gate was still broken when we left. The roof had a significant leak right above the changing table. After the first rain it was a mess. Towels and dripping water. The fridge also stopped working so for about a week they weren't able to keep food or bottles cold in the room. They had to store them in another room until they got it fixed. Buy a new one!!!! We pay enough money to have a working fridge in each room and not have to worry about one teacher being left with hungry crying infants while the other runs to the other room to get bottles. The heater stopped working as well. I know it's hot, but this happened during the cold rain we had a few months back. They are definitely money hungry. Not what I want in a daycare.
