Two years ago, I stopped by Chocolats Favoris during a visit to my home town, Quebec City. I remember my friend warning me NOT to order anything bigger than a small cone. Anything larger would, in her own words, make me food pregnant (??). I remember dropping by the place early on a rainy day. My boyfriend was feeling under the weather, and I was hoping to cheer him up. Given his sweet tooth, it worked like a charm! His eyes lit up at the selection of chocolate dips and he ogled the rich, velvety buckets of love longingly. Feeling ambitious, we both ordered regular size soft serves dipped in chocolate. As the coating solidified, I slowly came to the realization that this frozen tower of awesomeness was basically 140 grams of pure chocolate... Needless to say I felt vaguely nauseous toward the end. Fast forward to summer 2016, I happily discovered that Chocolats Favoris is now in Montreal. The staff is amazingly welcoming, the interior bright and cheerful. They offer a wide selection of treats, ranging from truffles to banana splits. The soft serves remain the main attraction, and chocolate lovers of any age come to bask in the sweet glow of Chocolats Favoris. Favorite it is indeed. Welcome to Montreal.
