I've been searching for decent tacos on the east side, and decided to give Cuco's a try. I called on a Saturday evening for a takeout order, the woman who answered was super friendly and said it would be about 30 minutes since they were 'busier than usual' - okay, no problem. When I got there, it was a weird experience. They didn't really have a host stand set up, so I awkwardly stood by the door until a server noticed me. When I told them I had a takeout order, they seemed confused and led me over to the bar..okay.. I ended up standing there for about 20 minutes until a different employee came over with my food. I ordered the steak tacos and was pretty happy with them. They were served in corn tortillas with fresh pico - the meat was decent and they didn't skimp on the filling. I'd probably give them another try for takeout since they are so close to my house, but would never eat inside.
