This is the first breakfast place I tried when I moved from Indiana to Arizona in May 2010. It is fantastic! OK, let me get the "negatives" out of the way: 1. Small Place, (possible) Long Waits - Most people are impatient, no matter how good the food. If you are one of those people and want to eat here; get here BEFORE the doors open. 2. OK, can't think of any more. All the Positives: 1. Yes it is small, but it has a wonderful old-school diner feel. 2. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. 3. The food is worth the wait! On my trip to Matt's I had: 1. Honey Lemonade (not as sweet as you might fear - very tasty) 2. The Hog and Chick (Two eggs and choice of off-the-bone ham, thick-cut bacon, or country sausage - I went with the bacon) The eggs were perfect; I always ask for over medium and rarely does a place get the consistency right (Matt's did). The thick-cut bacon was always cooked to my specification - not too crispy; I still like a little chew to it. Since I got there at/before they opened, I was in right away, got my food, enjoyed it, and was out in about 30 mins. A small place, with great service, great food, and a loyal following. I can see why!
