We are still trying new spots in Madison and last night decided to stay on the west side instead of going downtown. As soon as we pulled into this strip mall, my gut told me that we shouldn't have.
Upon entering, it was packed so I thought maybe I had misread it. I didn't. We ended up getting a seat at the bar which was great but the service at the bar (how?!?!) was very spotty. The cocktail menu reminded me of a Cheesecake Factory or another horrible chain. The wine choices were pretty good and we had a nice Barola- with no guidance from the staff.
As far as food, we had the baked goat cheese which was pretty good except it was about 5% cheese and 95% tomatoes. The accompanying bread was excellent- too bad that may have been the highlight. The beet salad was ok but could have benefitted from goat cheese- oh the irony. The sausage pizza was pretty good but nothing to remember. I wouldn't come back!
