Handel's is very good ice cream. A large takeout only stand that is attractively set up, it is easy to spot these blue and white buildings. Be warned you can be intimidated by the flavor mix which is long and offers many interesting choices. Prices are reasonable, especially when you consider the quality. The ice cream is appropriately creamy and have a nicely balanced level of sweetness. Flavors are usually vivid and they pack the ice cream with the extras such as truffles or chips. The chocolates are very rich and packed with cocoa; I can strongly recommend the Chocoholic Chip and the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle flavors. The Carmel flavors are interesting in that they are based on a caramel ice cream rather then a vanilla ice cream with a caramel ribbon. The Thin Mint is based on the cookies, with a mint ice cream that manages to be flavorful without overpowering. Handel's is a great choice for homemade hard ice cream when you want some variety.
