Although they unnecessarily punished, injured, beat, kicked, tased and nearly executed me while I was already injured and virtually unconscious, I give them two stars because I have to believe that not all of them are bad cops and not all of them are bad people. But those who are bad people AND bad cops, they are a danger to citizens and a danger to good cops because citizens are less willing to trust them because they abuse their power to hurt people. I have seen stories in the news of them doing a good job fighting crime. But the overall trend lately is very bad. Robert Johnson, Daniel Shaver, 84 year old grandmother, myself, many others. If it happened once in a blue moon, that would be one thing. But the news is currently inundated with people coming forward with their claims of brutality. To Protect and Serve. The first word is Protect. That's what they need to do, no matter how angry or how amped up they are. Some of it might boil down to training issues. Some of it is likely because of anger management issues. Once a person appears badly injured and is unconscious, no matter what they did (with the possible exception of murder) their goal must be to try not to let any further injuries happen to that person...not to consciously decide to further injure that person.
