I am a tourist, and I was in Toronto for the very first time. What to do... Oooh, the CN Tower! I arrived around 10:30 and stood in line for 30 minutes to buy my ticket. I opted for the basic pass - the tower and glass floor. Once through the initial phase, I stood in line again for 30 minutes to go through an airport-style security checkpoint. Air puff machines and metal detectors do not make you feel very comfortable as a tourist. I've been to the needle in Seattle and there was nothing like that. After security, I stood in line again for 30 minutes to catch the elevator up to the observation deck. After walking around for oh, 15 minutes, I was ready to come back down. It was pretty cool to walk over the glass floor and see how petrified people were on stepping on the glass. But yet again, I had to stand in line for 30 minutes to go down the elevator. By the time I was down, I had no desire to even look at the gift shop. The most disappointing part is that I was told that I made it there before the rush...
