I work for Nissan but I drive a Ford Fusion. Trust me the irony is not lost on me. With that being said I had been having a ton of problems with my Ford and as it turned out my service department that I bring all my cars to because I trust them let me know it was an issue with the Throttle Body. I looked up my Vin with Ford and it turns out my year make and model had to have an extended warranty on said throttle body for issues. So I call over to Ford because they are closer to my home and I speak to a woman who takes all my info and sets me up with a service adviser, Michael. I told her what was going on with my car and that I was having it towed to their dealership to have the throttle body taken care of. I asked her if since this was technically part of a recall if they would be covering the cost of towing. She took my vin looked it up and then told me that they would cover it if it was part of that said recall. So the tow truck comes and picks it up from my service drive and then delivers it to Ford. About fifteen minutes later I get a call from the tow truck saying that Ford is refusing to pay him. Ok, I pay him figuring they would reimburse me after the work has been preformed. I then get a call from Michael, who was very professional and the only decent part of my experience, who told me that I would be paying them a $130.00 fee for diagnosis if it wasn't the throttle body. I told him my service team had already diagnosed it as the throttle body but he said it was just as a precaution. The next day I get a call from Michael saying that they diagnosed a bunch of things in my car a handful of which I told them my service team had recently (between the last week) taken care of. He also told me the throttle body needed to be worked on, but that I would still have to pay the $130.00 diagnosis fee since they found other things wrong with my vehicle besides the throttle body...??? I told him to just fix the throttle body like I had originally brought my car in for and set up a time for today to pick it up. I went in to pick up my car and as expected my husband and I were upped by a sales man out front. We told him that we were just there to pick up my car from service and he kindly directed us to the service drive. He of course asked me what year my Ford was trying to get me to upgrade which I can appreciate being in sales then I told him thank you but I worked for Nissan and was just getting my car serviced, as we walked away he said well then you would be better off bringing your car there. We just kept walking I get it he could be having a bad day/month/week whatever but I still don't think you should treat customers that way. We walked into the service department and not only were we never greeted by anyone, but we had to walk up to someone and ask where Michael was. He told us he was in a meeting and sent us across to the cashier who charged us and had our car brought around. I feel like I didn't get a chance to ask about my car or what they worked on or to discuss why I was being charged $130.00 for something that was already diagnosed by my service team, or if i was going to be reimbursed for the towing I had to pay for... My car made it all the way home without breaking down so hopefully its all fixed and taken care of but I was definitely left with a bad taste in my mouth for Ford Country.
