This is one fantastic place for PT!! And Jeff Schroeder is the very best in the business!! He is not just bright and exceptionally well trained, he is also creative and curious. Unlike a number of PTs I have encountered, Jeff tailors treatment and exercise to specific needs and his results are wonderful! I have had two full hip replacements and a torn rotator cuff in the past year. Unfortunately I did not know about Mettler or Jeff following the two hip issues and ended up at Atheltico for rehab. The experience there was not bad (see my review) but there were a number of aspects about the system that I found both unprofessional and generally less than satisfying. Thus the torn rotator cuff issue made me investigate other options -- and that is when I learned about Mettler. Here are the main differences I saw between the two systems: 1) While the Athletico PTs were more or less ok, an hour's appointment with a PT at Athletico means 15-20 minutes with a professional PT and then being left to do exercises with oversight by (1) the PT (at some distance) while he/she begins another patient, or (2) a poorly trained assistant. An hour's appointment at Mettler means the full hour is spent with the professionally trained PT. 2) The treatment space at Athletico is one large room with patients on adjacent beds or doing exercises in the middle of the room. Atmosphere is noisy and busy with PTs and assistants chatting with patients or over patients to other PTs. At Mettler all patients are treated in separate rooms. Area outside of rooms can be busy but inside the treatment room it is calm and the focus is on the patient. The locker room feeling of Athletico may appeal to younger folks, but this senior finds the personalized quiet of Mettler far more rehabilitating. P.S. rotator cuff has rehabbed without surgery -- not repaired of course, but very functional.
