I'm in the unique situation of having had to put 2 pools in two different homes within 3 years. I used 2 different installers, Shasta put pool # 2 in. I won't name the first company here, but I'll tell you they spend much more money on advertising than Shasta, and have a state of the art showroom & outdoor facility. Going with them seemed like a 'no brainer' at the time; fresh from Wisconsin. James from Shasta was a helpful and precise designer to start the process. The subsequent crews were careful with our property, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. (The subcontractors on pool #1 were loud, messy, and never picked up after themselves at the end of the day. The discarded deck forms and lunch garbage piled up in the back corner of our yard. I had to call to have it removed. Steel sub contractor tore the gate off my fence with his trailer and didn't step up and admit it until called out on it. Pool #1 didn't use a bond beam and the deck separated from the pool by as much as 1/2 inch when everything settled. They 'fixed' this by filling the gap with caulk. Shasta uses a bond beam that ties the deck to the pool wall. After 13 months, no gaps. The tile guy for Shasta was phenomenal! He took his time, did the math, and laid it out beautifully. It took him a day and 1/2 to install the focal point of our pool. Pool #1 tile install took 2 guys 4 hours and looked terrible. Took that crew another half day to chip out and repair their mistakes which still incidentally, were never completely fixed. We had one hitch with our Shasta pool. A stain developed an the plaster several months after the pool was finished. When I called it to their attention, Hope from customer service took over. They tried several things to correct the problem and finally chose to completely replace the interior finish. (The finish I chose was defective from supplier and has since been discontinued). The professionalism Shasta showed in standing behind their work at considerable expense is unheard of these days. Hope and John B. (Project Super) stepped up and made the problem go away. My family is completely satisfied with our new Shasta pool!! I can only speculate, but I know Presidential Pools (pool #1 ;-) would not have been so accommodating. Go with Shasta!
