I was craving some Korean food and my Mom didn't feel like cooking, so we stopped by the closest restaurant to grab some eats. I honestly wasn't expecting much here, but was pleasantly surprised at how cozy and quaint the place was. We caught them at a slow period. We sat ourselves and the friendly waiter assisted us after a few minutes (he seemed to be doing double duty with answering the phones). My Mom is Korean and speaks it fluently, so she and the waiter conversed in the language as he gave us our menus. She later went to the bathroom and he returned and asked me for the drink order in English.
I wasn't expecting to see some Hawaiian/local inspired food on the menu! I spotted chicken katsu and Hawaiian style BBQ chicken, as well as sushi appetizers. Everything sounded delicious! We ended up getting the mandoo as appetizers, and I ordered a mixed plate of meat chun and kal bi.
The panchan was served immediately (we didn't get to choose them), closely followed by the mandoo appetizers. They were delicious, almost as good as my Mom's cooking. :) They had 3 different varieties of kimchi, though my favorite was the daikon. Later, the mixed plate arrived, and the portions were suitable, though I would've liked a little bit more kal bi. Everything tasted great! Some places make their meat too salty or use a strange spice, but their meat chun and kal bi was terrific. No complaints.
Definitely worth the stop, and when I go back to Vegas I'll come back here as well. 5 stars!
