I will say up front that the work itself was great. The guys who did the installs and painting had a great work ethic and did great work. However, the communications disconnects and delays during this project were abysmal. Our project was supposed to take 3 weeks - in the end, it took 6 months. I was regularly quoted arrival times for various parts of the project; the owners and/or workers were invariably late, sometimes by as much as two hours. When we started this project and ordered the new doors/security doors, Everlasting told me that the doors would be ready in three weeks. At the four-week mark, with no communication from them at all, I had to contact them to find out when they were going to be here to install the doors, when they were going schedule the painter, when they were going to install the security doors, etc etc. On several occasions, I responded to texts at the number from which I received them, only to get no answer back. After telling me when we started this project that they were ordering all the pieces and parts, every time I questioned when a part of the work was to be done (install doors, paint doors, install screen doors, install dog door, install/paint hallway door), the response was always, "I'll order it today." There were delays in making repairs to the dog door (to include finding out they hadn't even ordered a replacement for the door after the initial visit) even when I told them it was causing an significant increase in my A/C bill. I'd paid 50% up front; the rest was due Net 30. The project was finished on 8/16. The owner asked for payment before he walked out the door. I received the final invoice that same day, 8/16, with a note requesting payment. The next day, I got a follow-up call asking for payment. The day after that, a text requesting payment. Given the overall communications and delay history, it is off-putting to see the diligence with which they now communicate with me to be paid. If they'd shown half this level of diligence during the job, I not only would have felt better about choosing the company, but would have had a better overall impression and experience regarding this work. As it stands, this feels like the typical bad contractor experience, where the contractor gets my deposit, disappears off the face of the earth for weeks on end, is unreachable for questions, then demands an immediate payment as soon as the long-delayed project is finished. No, thanks.
