Kid-friendly? And how. So there I am, sitting in this restaurant, engulfed in the middle of what's been re-created as a jungle setting. I hear animal cries in the distant, I'm seeing rainbows out of the corner of one of my eyes, the waiters/waitresses seem all fit to lead excursions in this Rainforest... Sorry, why was I there again? Was it to be distracted by the gorillas in the mist? (where there were, a few of).

Hubby, baby and I came here for lunch today. Busy, but not impossible to get in. We were seated in 15 min. or less. The menu arrived, and my inner jaw dropped to see the upped prices for simple salads as an add-on: nearly $5 or 6 dollars, if one opts for a side salad? The average price of meals was between $9-$15.
Not many options for vegetarians, let alone vegans.
They don't combine food items, unless you're willing to pay a premium. Be it for french fries, a salad, mashed potatoes, a soup. I still can't get over how much they charge for a side salad!
Why so much? They need to feed electricity bills, all those jungle leader-waiter/tress hybrids, all those gorillas, and exotic fish that they keep on display so that families have ample visual stimuli to distract their wee ones with.
Restaurant meets Disneyland, meets a mild Jumanji.
It seemed unreal to be there, and I was completely confused as to why any group of adults-only would choose to eat here (instead of, say, the Moxie's directly in front of Rainforest Cafe). In a long and large blink, this place kept little ones entertained. In another blink, it felt like mad hysteria come alive. I didn't know, other than at my own family members, which direction to rest my eyes in.
A definite experience. To be enjoyed at least once, hopefully in the company of kids.
Expect food to taste o.k. (blah if you're a foodie), and to pay cha-cha-CHING for your meal... Still, you get the extra entertainment, which in the end... makes this place ok if you've got a baby/child in tote.
Call ahead, to see if they have any specials going on. I remember seeing something about Wednesdays, and kids eating for $3.99 with any purchase of an adult entree.

They have regular "Canadian" options -- appetizers; soups/salads; burgers/sandwiches; pizza/pasta; desserts...
