After appetizers and drinks, we went to Matcha Cafe Maiko for post-drink desserts. It was actually my birthday and I wanted to do something casual with my person. It's in the same plaza as all the other notable food places, so you can jump from one place to another!
Stepping in, you get greeted immediately. It's definitely a cute touch to the location when the staff greets you. The pastel greens and beige colors of the decor definitely puts you in the mood to say "I'm ready to relax and be fat by eating all the green sugary stuffs"
So that's what we did. We went and stared at that menu with a determined face and began to name off things. While they have quite an expansive menu (who knew there were so many ways of creating a matcha dessert), I realized, I can't have too much dairy; sooo I just got the matcha and vanila mixed cone ice cream.
It was quick and easy; plenty of seating. We found a spot and ate away. So they sprinkle matcha bits on the ice cream. I found that the flavors blended so that the vanilla was actually pretty over powering. I think next time I'll just get straight matcha instead of the mix.
They have shaved ice, drinks and many other matcha concoctions.
The staff was very friendly! I would definitely come back and try the other items on the menu. If you find one item disappointing well, maybe try another. Can't say you wont go back unless you've tried EVERYTHING. :)
