I love breakfast. I can eat it any time of day. So you'd think this place would far exceed my breakfast expectations, right? Meh.
The Flapper was a big let-down. Fine, it was a simple plate of one pancake with eggs and bacon. But the pancake wasn't fully cooked. The 2 strips of bacon were rubbery (so we asked for another pair....didn't really make up for it). The eggs? Scrambled. Nothing special. That's a SIMPLE dish. If you can't get that right, get out of the kitchen.
The Parisian eggs benedict (A buttery croissant half layered with shaved ham, sautéed portabella mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese. Topped with two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and green onions) was VERY good though, I admit. Came with ranch potatoes that were cold, but whatever.
I probably wouldn't return unless someone I was with really wanted to go. And I'd probably stick with that Parisian dish. Guess I expected too much from a breakfast place?
Nah. Prices were too much for the quality of food they were serving.
