I have used Lyft and Uber for the exact same trip many times, and Lyft is always more expensive than Uber. For some reason, Lyft drivers like to take me on a route that is twice as long. Nonetheless, I like the personality of the drivers better, and I feel slightly safer with them. They have also never picked me up late or driven me to my destination late. Their cars are always clean. I like that I can charge a tip to my credit card on the app rather than have to use cash. I will continue to use them each week.
