So sad to see what has happened to this place. My wife and I married here 17 years ago when it was a Holiday Inn. It used to be a pretty nice hotel, all the way around. Now, watch out.
As has been mentioned, the most worrisome aspect is that it looks like a halfway house for recovering drug addicts / alcoholics. God bless the afflicted, but being around them takes a certain level of tolerance most people don't have.
The gentleman that worked the night shift is just that; a gentleman. So this review should not reflect poorly upon him OR the cleaning crew. Our room was cleaned to our liking each day. The female employees that serviced the breakfast area were also kind and dutiful. HOWEVER, I did have the misfortune of dealing with one of the male employees one morning. He literally shouted at me because I was in the breakfast area before the official "start time" of 6:30. The hotel manager was also less than pleasant, and far from accommodating. My stay was 5 days, and the continental breakfast was carb-only every day; no meats, eggs or fruit. Thankfully, the coffee was actually decent.
The pool area appeared pleasant, but after only 20 minutes or so in the pool, my skin was showing signs of irritation from whatever chemicals were in the pool.
Even at a heavy discount from other hotels, you don't get your money's worth at this dive. If you absolutely insist on staying here, bring personal protection (gun, knife, both) and beware the daytime staff!
