You guys! The new SPACES is back and better then ever! Seriously, I adore their new location in Hingetown. SPACES Gallery is now in the former Van Rooy Coffee building on Detroit Avenue and boy, it's a beaut!
SPACES has always been an innovative, welcoming, family-oriented and locally centric art and performance gallery. But their new location really allows them to embrace the magnitudes or art and programming I always knew they could reach. The interior is modern, minimalistic, and boasts large open spaces, giant glass windows looking into Hingetown, and exposed brick walls. You can still see some bones of the historic coffee building, which is super cool. They also have designated artist suites to host traveling artists coming to town, and in addition to their exhibit halls, have work rooms for on-site creation.
SPACES will always be a place that welcomes everyone, touches on important subjects in its exhibits, and makes art approachable. I'm so in love with their new place, and I can't wait to visit again soon for the Monster Drawing Rally, benefit, Art Therapy nights and more of their amazing events! Check out all their programs. They do great stuff.
