My BF and I were in town for the Insight Bowl, won by ISU, 14-13!!! We decided to try GG as we wanted to get away from the crowds for dinner. This was a good choice and much better than we expected. We ordered the egg drop soup. It was hot, not luke warm, had good flavor and bits of chicken. The dumpling order was 8 large pcs, with plenty of meat and the skin was thick and hearty! Very good and the sauce was just spicy enough, too!. The first dish was the Mongolian Beef. It was well marinated and very tasty with sauteed green and white onions. We also had the chicken with plum sauce. I wanted mild today and the server suggested this. I was hesitate at first because it said it had bamboo shoots. Sometimes they are added as filler to make the dish look like more food. This was not the case as there was almost no bamboo and no waterchestnuts! The veggies were green peppers, onions, pea pods and mushrooms. And there was plenty of chicken too! We were not able to finish and took the rest home in an ice chect! Definitely one Chinese Restaurant to try if you're in Mesa, Az!
