TP has been part of the furniture in Chinatown for decades and continues to be the warehouse for both residents and restaurateurs in the area carrying all the goods for cooking with some must-have hardware kicking around for good measure. The service is stellar too, even if your native tongue is only English. Need a soy sauce jar like I did recently? You have many to choose from. In fact I liked the one I was using at the noodle house nearby and sure enough, there it was on the shelf for under $3. Need a commercial deep fryer? They have that too. Plus an interesting array of Japanese knives at the til. I like looking at the electric kitchen appliances they stock. Cool stuff, like a $1500 blender and brands that I didn't realize even made the appliances they had there. The impression I get is that they stock these particular items because they work well and do the job, not because of some contractual obligation to carry them. It's a fun place to window shop, although the aisles are narrow, as you can spot most of the items seen in nearby restaurants. I bought my cast iron wok at TP decades ago and it still is my fav. Tap my Phong anytime TP!!
