I had my "consult" today for the gastric sleeve with Dr Teng, I am disgusted. When somebody struggles with weight they need help, I'm an Advanced Care Technician, I've assisted surgeons with these procedures, I'm completely aware of the surgery and what goes on during it. I have amazing insurance that 100% covers it and DOES NOT require it to wait 6 months with a supervised diet. However, the doctor said I weigh enough to be "2 people" in 1, he was extremely offensive and rushing me!! I had ZERO time to explain my situation, I am a former athlete and recently gained over 100 pounds. All he cared about was the 6 months I had to wait and about my insurance paying him, it felt like the 10 minutes I had with him was him scolding me and saying see you in 6 months. BEWARE. They claim they require you to lose weight with 6 months of diet and exercise and YOU have to pay 45$ for EACH nutrition class. I'm very disappointed with him and his team, this is supposed to be a motivating experience and a life changing experience. I'll be seeing another doctor obviously. :/
