When I first moved to King, I immediately missed the convenience of the number of Asian supermarkets I had at my disposal while previously living in Brampton. I missed the staple ingredients I kept in my pantry previously - mirin, chilli paste, Glico curry blocks, big bottles of soy sauce, tonkatsu/okonomiyaki and ponzu sauce. So, when Centra finally opened in Aurora, it was Christmas morning for me. I immediately stocked up on all my pantry favourites and was able to finally recreate some of my favourite dishes from the comforts of my home. Contrary to some of the other reviews regarding mouldy produce, I've never had such an experience and in fact, will sometimes go out of my way just to come to Centra to pick up all my fresh produce because I find the quality to be superb in comparison to produce found at Wal Mart, Superstore or even the local Metro. Customer service can be a little lacklustre at times, and during our last shopping experience - my partner inquired with the meat counter whether or not they had any beef bones on stock and was met by some patronizing guffawing which left him a little uncomfortable. Nonetheless, we'll definitely keep buying our produce and niche cooking ingredients here in the future while we're still kicking around this neck of the woods.
