I'm giving Centre Island 5 stars on the basis of being a father with two young sons. This amusement park is definitely geared towards families with younger children. If you're looking for thrill rides or giant roller coasters, they're not here.
What you get is a nicely laid-out family oriented park that's clean and quiet (by amusement park standards). Our kids loved the ferry ride over, and it's a bit of walk to the park itself (from the ferry). There were lots of strollers/wagons but we didn't feel it was necessary. Be prepared to spend close to $200/family, if parents are riding as well.
Our kids loved the mini roller coaster, bumper cars and water log ride. Outside food is permitted, so pack lunch and drinks. Definitely a nice way to spend a warm summer day!
