I love deli! I have been a Chompies fan for years. Everyone has told me how wonderful Goldmans is, so I thought I'd give them a try. I called at 4:30 to order take out for dinner to pick up at 5:45. I ordered 5 pounds of meats and salads for my family of 6. I asked for a loaf of bread to go with my order and the person on the phone told me she had no bread for me. When I questioned her about this she told me I was calling at the end of the day and that I should call back in the morning. What? She told me she could give me three or four slices of bread. What? She said she wouldn't have enough bread to make sandwiches. What? I just ordered 5 pounds of food...isn't a $50+ order of food worth enough bread slices to make sandwiches for dinner? She was completely unapologetic and kept chastising me for ordering take out dinner so late in the day...it was 4:30pm and they are open until 8pm. What? Guess I'm not gonna find out how good their food is. Customer services means everything to me. I will be keeping my business at Chompies...they always have a loaf of rye and a kind word for me. Oy vey!
