I wish we could give half-stars, because this is a solid 3.5 star review, but I don't want to penalize them *too* much, as the fact is, they were twice as cheap as any hotel on the strip when we stayed last night, and only a little bit less convenient, so despite some complaints, I would totally stay here again given the same sort of price differential - paid $140 total, when even the cheapo strip hotels were charging $200+, plus BS "resort fees".
We got picked up at the airport for free with no difficulty, checked in with zero hassle, and We also used the free shuttle to and from Mandalay Bay, which was pretty awesome (though they only run it on the hour - wish it was a little bit more frequent.)
Everything was clean enough. Bed was super comfortable, and internet worked... well enough (not super fast, but it wasn't buggy.) I just had a decent number of small complaints, any of which by itself would be inconsequential, but as a package, says they're relying on their location and price, more than quality:
Towels were cheapo towels - tiny and thin. So was the toilet paper.
Air conditioner absolutely did dispense cold air (or it'd be much lower rated!), but the thermostat seemed a little off last night - I kept having to set it lower. I'm pretty confident this room is not 69 degrees right now, but that's what our thermostat is set to.
I'm sitting in a chair that was clearly a nice chair at one point, but currently lists a bit to the left when you sit in it.
The bathroom door squeeeeeeeks. I don't normally complain if a door is a bit squeeky, but what I mean is, if you don't shut it completely, it will slowly squeek open for a solid 30 seconds.
And unlike some people, our room *did* face the runway, and you absolutely *can* hear planes taking off and landing pretty constantly. (I'm kinda used to it - I used to live near an airport - but it is a little irritating. Would have been nicer if their windows were a bit more sound-shielded. For that matter, same is true of their walls - we could hear other rooms' squeeky doors as well as our own. :D)
So, not the nicest hotel ever, but as far as Vegas goes, if you don't need flashy, it is quite likely the best compromise between price and convenience (especially since the shuttle service means you probably won't have to rent a car if you're flying in). I totally don't regret staying here.
