Ok, so I have flown into this airport a few times over the past years and every time I am reminded why I love my home airport in Tampa so much better than this one. This airport is old and dingy. It seems there is always construction of some sort going on and I wonder if they ever updated or renovated any of the terminal areas since the 70s.
TSA is a long line nightmare here and moves so slowly at all hours. It always seems to be backed up into the check-in area and looks so disorganized and chaotic. With an airport of this size and magnitude, you'd think that someone would have found a way to have rentals onsite. Riding a bus in frigid temperatures with 30 some strangers packed in like sardines to the rental facility a few miles outside the airport seems so antiquated and weird for an airport this size. Make sure you get to the airport early if you have to return a rental.
